Do you want to master the art of booking flights?

Sometimes booking a flight may seem an easy process but there are few things to keep in mind in order to get maximum possible benefit from your flight booking process. Following are few important points to remember when booking a flight:

Compare prices. Booking flights can be thrilling, but it’s easy to overspend or miss better deals. Start by comparing prices on platforms like Traavay, Google Flights or Skyscanner. These tools show trends and predict price drops. Always search in incognito mode to avoid dynamic pricing tricks.

Book early. The earlier you book your flights the better price you will get. It is a good idea to book at least 2 months in advance to get a good ticket prices and reserve seat locations of your choice, otherwise you will end-up paying more and not having enough available seat locations to choose from.

Flexibility is key. Shifting your travel dates by a day or choosing a nearby airport (e.g., flying into Oakland instead of San Francisco) can save hundreds. Use the “flexible dates” feature on booking sites.

Set price alerts and sign up for airline newsletters—they often share exclusive flash sales. Booking 6–8 weeks in advance is ideal for domestic flights, while international trips benefit from 3–6 months of lead time.

Don’t overlook layovers. A longer stopover might be annoying, but it could halve your fare. Just ensure you have enough time between flights (aim for 2+ hours internationally).

Finally, review baggage policies before clicking “buy.” Budget airlines like Ryanair or Spirit lure you with low fares but charge steep fees for carry-ons.
