Make sure to choose your hotel wisely!
Your hotel can make or break your trip. Location matters most. A cheaper hotel outside the city center might cost you more in transit time and taxi fares. Use Google Maps to check proximity to attractions or public transport.
Always read recent reviews on TripAdvisor or TrustPilot. Look for red flags like broken AC, noise, or safety concerns. A traveler once booked a “boutique hotel” in Bangkok only to find it was next to a nightclub—reviews warned about the noise, but they’d skipped reading them.
Contact the hotel directly after booking. Confirm your reservation and ask about perks like free breakfast or upgrades. Sometimes booking directly (instead of through third-party sites) nets you better service.
Check the cancellation policy. Free cancellation saves you if plans change. Also, verify amenities—does “free Wi-Fi” mean it’s only in the lobby?
